REACH is the abbreviation for “registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances and preparations”.
To comply with the regulations, companies must identify and manage the risks linked to the substances that are manufactured and marketed in the EU. Companies must demonstrate to ECHA how the substance can be used safely and inform users about risk management measures.
REACH is a Regulation of the European Union, adopted in order to improve the protection of human health and the environment against the risks that chemical products may present, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemical industry. The Regulation also encourages alternative methods for hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests carried out on animals.
